It’s not an ISF, but it’s still something pretty quick!
Cotton(the dark brindle one) is our new family member. She’s 62lbs compared to Gibbs hefty 77 but we just picked her up from the Knoxville greyhound rescue. Excited to get her back to her house now. Gibbs is still probably not aware she’s here to stay.
I may do a long form piece on greyhounds, the races, and these two puppies careers in particular. Would that interest anyone?

Congrats!
A piece on greyhounds would be cool. I’d read it.

my aunt and uncle used to have whippets, usually 3 at a time. I think they were named for what their tails do to everything when they’re happy.

Congrats on the rescue!

Gibbs would be called bloody because he always managed to cut his tail open and spray it everywhere

I’ve always wanted a greyhound if I ever get a doggo. My friend and his wife have one and it’s like a cat most of the time. Just kinda lazy and napping all the time. But he has a little balsa wood plane and a launcher and that dog will haul ass and chase it down in an open field.

Gibbs is scared of things that launch or get thrown but well have to see how Cotton is.

And definitely get one

Do you have coats for them? I have friends with a retired racer in Chicago and I swear that dog has more coats and jackets than I do. Light crocheted ones, rain ones, snow ones, super reflective ones. She also wear booties in winter.

Aerodynamic - check.
Large tires - check.
Add lightness - check?
Oppo Approved!
Seriously though, a piece on them would be great!

My rescue has got a quarter greyhound in her which explains her rocket speed. Unfortunately she’s not great with other dogs and gets jealous quickly. Greyhounds are majestic

They are so wonderful we ended up with 2!

I need someone else to help me figure out the aerodynamic drag of a greyhound. I’ve looked before but no luck

Awesome! Congrats to you and Cotton!

An ex of mine had a whippet. Named Devo, like 50% of all whippets I assume.
Great dog-

Good man! Rescue doggos are the best doggos. I hope the transition goes smoothly getting the two dogs bonded together and making a pack.

We hope so too. She’s always been created so that’ll be interesting

It may take some time (and a few dogs fights before someone gets thier butt kicked enough to determine who is in charge), but it will happen eventually. With our two, it took about six months for them to come to a doggie understanding of each other, and about a year for them to really form a doggie pack. It was rough the first couple of months, but it is so worthwhile in the end.

I’m not even expecting any fights as greyhounds are sooo tame. They’re the best. I just have to do the natural progression of making sure that she knows that Gibbs is in charge. He gets fed first, treat first, etc

Yep. I think one of our issues was that both dogs were adult females, and it turns out both dogs are really alpha female types.

I used to have neighbors with a fast doggie that looked just like yours. They named him Turbo. Turbo is a great name for a fast dog.

Do they like to play together? I have heard that greyhounds, due to the nature of the way they raise/train them, don’t really play like other dogs.

They’re just goobers but they won’t really play though.
